Worst Case Scenario... Sox Swept, Season Effectively Over After 7-6 Loss to Twins (Game 158. '08)
The White Sox' season is effectively over after being swept. I almost expected this after yesterday's loss, but when the Sox went up 6-1, I actually thought the Sox might make it out of Minnesota alive. They didn't, and they don't have enough to be in the playoffs anyways. Bobby Jenks, with 5 outs to go HAS to close it out. Nathan did. Jenks did not. When you score 6 in one inning, then not score again, while letting the opposition get back into the game, you're going to lose. I saw this coming in the sixth inning. If it is any consolation to Sox fans, at least the Twins will almost certainly be bounced in the first round. They're not as good as they look at home against the Sox. The Rays will represent the American League in the World Series, and win it. It will be one of the greatest stories in recent baseball memory...of a team that came from the last place dumps to the highest crown in pro baseball a team can earn. I will be cheering for them since my Sox are done.
