Sox Sweep Twin Bill Against Tigers
The first game was well-played. The second game? Not so much. This team has given up more runs in the eighth inning recently than they should. They have been very bad. Linebrink clearly isn't the same guy, and Dotel is either great or awful. Watching this team consistently give up leads late in games is not a good omen. Without a strong bullpen, the Sox will not go far even if they make the playoffs. They don't have a 'Duque to shut it down with the bases loaded and nobody out. Fortunately for tonight, Dewayne Wise bailed out the bullpen with a grand slam off the ever-mediocre Kyle Farnsworth after Dotel gave up a slam to Marcus Thames. It was two victories, but game 2 was troubling. Offense might win divisions, but pitching wins championships.
