White Sox Beat Boston 6-5 (Game 117, '08)

The White Sox were lucky I think to get this one today, since Floyd once again was not at his best, and gave up 5 earned over just 5 1/3 innings pitched.  The Sox pitching needs to get figured out and I mean in a flash.  Giving up 5 runs, 6 runs, etc. is not going to be good enough.  It is amazing the Sox have been able to hang around and reclaim the slimmest of leads in the American League Central thanks to their win and the Twins' loss to the Royals in extras.  I don't feel secure in this team at all.  If they could pitch as they did for the first two months of the season, I would feel better.  If the fifth starter spot was solidified, I would feel better.  If Scott Linebrink could come back close to 100%, I would feel better.  Since none of the above has happened, I'm not at all secure in this team.  Still, the Twins are not lighting the world on fire either so it is quite possible both teams will continue to trade 1st and 2nd place in the standings respectively for a while, probably all the way to the last week or so of the season.  It's going to be two months of battling.  Whoever handles the heat better will win the division.
