Sox Walk Off With 10-8 Win Over Tigers Despite Shaky Pitching by Floyd (Game 112, '08)

I'm happy with the outcome of last night's game, but I don't believe in this case, 'all's well that ends well.'  I don't believe it because it is not true.  All is not well in White Sox world.  The pitching continues to be a problem, with Floyd giving up 5 earned over a pitiful 4 innings pitched.  The bullpen, after the long, drawn-out 14-inning affair will be taxed for today.  On the positive side, besides the 2-run homer surrendured by Thornton in his third inning of work, the bullpen was decent. The starters are still a concern.  The Sox win combined with a Minnesota meltdown give the Sox a slim 1-game lead in the division.  While Danks is not known for going deep into ballgames, he is going to have to come pretty close to it after last night's crazy game.

When Swisher hit his homer, it reminded me a lot of Podsednik's homer in Game 2 of the 2005 World Series.  The reason is because it landed in almost the same location, and off the bat, I didn't think he got enough.  Enough he did get, as the Sox once again, won in dramatic fashion against the Tigers who I'm going to pencil in as not gonig to the playoffs given their bullpen woes and the trade of Rodriguez for the ever-mediocre Kyle Farnsworth.  The Sox will go for the series win tonight.  They must take advantage with the Twins struggling on the road.
