Team Effort...Sox Take Game 1 Against Twins (Game 61, '08)
Javier Vazquez was not at his best last night. With the way this pitching staff has been throwing the ball lately though, I would say it is okay to cut these guys some slack. The offense, long overdue in paying back its pitchers, did so last night, putting up 10 runs against Minnesota pitching. It appears the Sox are finding something offensively these days. They have done so against pitching that had given them problems as the past - guys like Blackburn and Grienke. If the trend of strong pitching and enough offense continues, not to mention exceptional defense, as displayed last night by Konerko and Dye, both making spectacular diving grabs, then this team should be in it all year long. It appears this division in 2008 is there for whomever wants it. The White Sox are poised to take advantage. Kenny was right. This team has the horses. They now need to perform as they are capable of, as they did last night.
