All or Nothing...Sox Shut Out With 5-0 Loss to Dodgers (Game 78, '08)

This was painful to watch tonight.  Gavin Floyd was not great.  It seems if he cannot locate his curveball, he gets hit hard on his fastball.  Still, even had he been perfect, the Sox would have still lost, being shutout once again.  The White Sox defense was spotty too, with 3 errors on the night.

This game was virtually unwatchable.  One popup and flyout after another, four lousy hits.  It's the same old thing with this team.  Any left hander who has a good changeup is unhittable to this squad.  With Minnesota's win tonight, the Sox' lead has all but evaporated in the Central - down to just 1/2 game up.  They haven't deserved to be called a first place team anyways.  This team is offensively streaky, its defense shaky, and its pitching is becoming inconsistent.  It is quite possible once this team relinquishes first place, they will never return to it.  I hope I'm wrong.
