White Sox Cannot Sweep, Lose to Halos 3-2 (Game 142, ’08)

Even though the White Sox lost today’s game, I feel good about how they competed, not just in this game but in the entire series.  This Angels team is one of the best if not the best in the American League.  The Sox almost swept them, and even without Carlos Quentin, they played them very tough.  The Sox got beat today, but did not beat themselves. That is how I saw this game today.  I can take getting beat. I cannot take beating oneself.

On the positive side, I was glad to see Paul Konerko continue to heat it up at the plate with yet another homer, this time to center.  Uribe continues to play excellent defense at third base.  Today was a situation in which the Sox ran into a very good pitcher who was just a bit better than Danks.  It was a very good game and reminded me a lot of playoff baseball. It was low-scoring and well pitched.  The Sox bullpen was pretty good, even though Ramirez was credited with allowing the go-ahead run.  It was good to see Linebrink pitch well.  The Sox will need him down the stretch…
